ICAR-DOGR organizes training programme for B.Sc. students of BHU
A training programme on “Scientific cultivation of onion and garlic” was organized by ICAR-Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research for B.Sc. Agricultural students of Rajiv Gandhi South Campus – Banaras Hindu University, Barkachha, Mirzapur (UP) during 15-17 July 2026 at ICAR-DOGR. Different topics related to onion and garlic cultivation were covered by the scientists through 16 lectures followed by practical in laboratories and farm in the training. The various agro-practices and techniques were demonstrated to students at Rajgurunagar farm and various labs of different disciplines. Students were exposed to different agro-innovative techniques. After training programme, interactive session was conducted in which queries from the students were answered by the scientists. In valedictory function, certificates were distributed to the participants. Dr. Ram Dutta, Director (Acting), ICAR-DOGR motivated the students for applying in their further studies, the advance onion and garlic technologies learned by them from the Directorate. Dr. S. S. Gadge, Principal Scientist, expressed vote of thanks at the end of the training. The training programme was coordinated by Dr. S. S. Gadge, Dr. R. B. Kale, and Dr. H. R. Bhandari.
