| OBSERVANCE OF VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK |
ICAR-Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research, Pune has observed the Vigilance Awareness Week-2025 from 27 October 2025 to 2 November 2025 with the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”. The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week was commenced with pledge taking ceremony on 27 October 2025 at 11.00 AM by all the staff members of the Directorate to promote ethical practices, foster a culture of honesty, integrity and transparency without corruption in the Institution. All the staffs of the Directorate also took ‘Online Integrity Pledge’ (e-pledge) by visiting the CVC’s website (https://www.cvc.gov.in). During Vigilance Awareness Week, various activities were organized such as the display of banners and posters, integrity pledge by staff, sensitization programme on vigilance in various offices and daily life, vigilance awareness programme for villagers, workshop on vigilance awareness and competitions such as oratorial and rangoli for ICAR-DOGR staff to create awareness among the employees against corruption. Hon. A. S. Sayyad, Chief Judge of District Additional Session Court, Rajgurunagar sensitized ICAR-DOGR staff about social responsibility, honesty, transparency and accountability and made them aware about cyber-crime and cyber arrest. The certificate and prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions organized during Vigilance Awareness Week. Dr. V. Mahajan, Director, ICAR-DOGR addressed to the staff on preventive vigilance measures. To conclude the VAW observance, the Director of the Institute substantiated his remark on the policies and procedures of the organization. Dr. Shailendra Gadge, Principal Scientist and Vigilance Officer, ICAR-DOGR expressed vote of thanks. The Vigilance Awareness Week was concluded on 2 November 2025. The programmes were coordinated by Dr. Shailendra Gadge, Principal Scientist and Vigilance Officer, Dr. Rajiv Kale, Senior Scientist, Dr. Pranjali Ghodke and Mr. HSC Shaikh, CTO, ICAR-DOGR. The photographs of the various events were uploaded on the Directorate website as a part of awareness and sensitization programs for the employees, visitors and farmers.

1. 2. Rangoli competition: The rangoli competition on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” was held on 29 October 2025 at 3.00 PM at the extension hall of the Directorate. Total 33 employees of the Institute actively participated in the event.

3. Awareness Gram Sabha: An Awareness Gram Sabha was organized on 30 October 2025 at 11.00 AM in Dhagewadi village, Shirur block, Pune as a part of Vigilance Awareness Week. The event commenced with the Vigilance Pledge. A total of 42 farmers (24 male, 18 female) along with Shri. Sushant Pavale, Agronomist and Shri. Somnath Katkar, Community Development Officer, dignitaries of TVS-Srinivasan Service Trust participated in the Gram Sabha. The villagers were made aware about the menace of corruption and the different measures that the public can undertake to redress it. Dr. Vijay Mahajan, Director, ICAR-DOGR addressed the villagers on vigilance responsibility in various agricultural practices. The field visit was also organized after the Gram Sabha. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Shailendra Gadge, Principal Scientist and Vigilance Officer, ICAR-DOGR.

4. Oratorical competition: The oratorical competition on “How to curb corruption in different sector?” was organized on 30 October 2025 at 3:00 PM in the conference hall for the staff of the Directorate. Total 8 staff of the Directorate participated in the competition.

5. Sensitization Programme: Sensitization programme on “Vigilance in Government Offices” was organized on 31 October 20245 at 3.00 PM in which ICAR-DOGR staff actively participated. Dr. V. Mahajan, Director, ICAR-DOGR addressed the staff to be vigilant so that the corruption should not happen in office and their daily life. Hon. A. S. 6. Display of pamphlets/banners: The banners and pamphlets on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” were displayed throughout the week at prominent places of ICAR-DOGR premise, Post Officer, State Bank, Tehsil Office, etc. to create awareness of the campaign.

7. Workshop: The workshop on “Vigilance Awareness” was organized on 2 November 2025 in which Dr. S. S. Gadge, Principal Scientist & Vigilance Officer sensitized the staff about the need for transparency and integrity in public governance. Dr. V. Mahajan, Director, ICAR-DOGR addressed to the staff on preventive vigilance measures. To conclude the VAW observance, the Director of the Institute substantiated his remark on the policies and procedures of the organization.
